Nothing added a mic into their new earbuds case
The Nothing Buds 3, that just launched, have a unique feature that is in the case not the earbuds. With many earbuds boasting about how many mics are in their earbuds, Nothing is taking a different approach with the mics being in the case.
The case on the new Buds 3 have a huge button with big white text that says “Talk.” When you press the button it will connect to the paired device, and then you can use what Nothing calls the “Super Mic.”
Nothing says that the case won’t integrate with default camera apps on iOS and Android, but will be supported by third-party apps like Blackmagic and others.
“Most of these apps default to the phone’s native microphone and don’t give users the option to select another input.” Says Nothing’s head of global smart products marketing, Andrew Freshwater. “That’s an OS and app-level decision, not ours. We’d love to see this flexibility opened up so more people can benefit from Super Mic.”
For other specs, the earbuds have 12mm drivers with support for spatial audio, LDAC Hi-Res, and personalized EQ based on an in-app hearing analysis test. Nothing says that the buds have 5 hours of battery life with ANC on, and up to 22 with the charging case.
