Insta360 Wave Turns Meetings Into Searchable and Shareable Knowledge

Insta360 just showed us their next product for audio recording. It’s called the Wave and is an AI-powered speakerphone. It is positioned as more than a standard meeting device; it’s also for creators and professionals.

Design

The design of the new Wave speakerphone is unique, with its levitating design that stands out. It has a compact form, touchscreen controls, an easy mute toggle, can adjust the volume, and upload recordings.

Audio Technology

The Wave uses an 8-microphone 3D array with 48kHz Hi-Fi capture, which means it can even pick up voices from 16 feet away! But you might not always want every voice picked up, so the Wave has AI noise cancellation for over 300 sound types, echo cancellation, reverberation, and a full duplex for natural two-way conversations.

Recording Features

The Wave can work as a standalone recorder with up to 32GB of storage, which equals about 1,000 hours. It also allows for one-tap recording, tagging, muting, and AI pre-recording, which captures the last 5 minutes before hitting record.

AI Meeting Assistant

Insta360 also announced a new AI meeting assistant called Insta360 InSight. It can transcribe in 99 languages, has speaker identification, glossaries for accuracy, smart summaries, to-do lists, and AI Q&A powered by ChatGPT and Gemini. The price for Insta360 InSight is free for the basic plan, and the Pro plan is $99.99 per year or $17.99 every month.

Adaptive Beamforming & Use Cases

There are five pickup modes on the Wave, and they include Omni, Cardioid, Supercardioid, Figure-8, and Stereo. Which means it is flexible for meetings, podcasts, interviews, and creative recordings.

Ecosystem & Accessories

The Wave integrates with other Insta360 products like the Insta360 Link 2 webcam for a full video and audio setup. There is also auto speaker tracking via Direction of Arrival detection. Accessories for the Wave include the Y-Cable, Table Mount, and Desktop Controller. A future firmware update will allow it to do multi-device wireless linking for larger rooms.

Pricing

You can get the Insta360 Wave today at a starting price of $299.99 on the Insta360 Store, Amazon, and select retailers. Early buyers will also get free access to the InSight Basic Plan.

The Wave is aimed at professionals, students, and creators, with its professional audio and AI-powered intelligence. It also sets a potential new standard for smarter meetings.

Would you use the Wave for work meetings or creative projects? Do you think AI features like transcription and summaries make a real difference? Is $299.99 a fair price for a device that blends speakerphone + recorder + AI assistant? Will you be picking up an Insta360 Wave? Let us know in the comments!
