Xiaomi 17 Series Debuts with Dual Screens, Leica Cameras, and Massive Batteries

Xiaomi announced their new Xiaomi 17 series, besides its other new products like the Xiaomi Pad 8, and new home appliances at the Beijing National Convention Center. Part of Lei Jun’s annual Keynote called “Change,” which showcases Xiaomi’s Human × Car × Home strategy. Today we got ot see the Xiaomi 17, Xiaomi 17 Pro, and Xiaomi 17 Pro Max.

Xiaomi 17

The Xiaomi 17 is the entry-level model of the 17 series. It has a compact design with a 6.3-inch display, which is 191 grams light, and it is 8.06mm thin. It is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chip, has a 7000mAh Xiaomi Surge Battery, and the amazing Leica Summilux camera system. With that partnership, it has a camera with a 50MP Light Fusion 950 sensor, OID, the Leica 60mm telephoto floating lens, and a Master Portrait Mode. The display on the Xiaomi 17 can hit a 3500 nits of peak brightness, has ultra-thin bezels about 1.18 mm thin, and is made with the SuperRED luminous material. The Xiaomi 17 can charge at 100W with a wired charger and up to 50W wirelessly.

Xiaomi 17 Pro & 17 Pro Max

Xiaomi also unveiled the new Xiaomi 17 Pro and Pro Max. They have a new Dynamic Back Display, which you can display custom wallpapers, AI pets, notifications, schedules, and QR codes on. It has a sleek 8mm body and comes in the colors of Black, White, Purple, and Green.

Display & Imaging

On both the Xiaomi 17 Pro and Pro Max, there is an M10 Display Panel and SuperRED luminous material for ultra-high brightness and efficiency. The 17 Pro Max has a few different features, like an independent pixel array and Xiaomi Glass 3.0. The camera on both of the phones is a Leica Summilux with LOFIC HDR tech.

Battery & Charging

The Xiaomi 17 Pro comes with a 6300mAh battery capacity, while the 17 Pro Max has a bigger 7500mAh battery. Both of these batteries are designed to be slim, using an L-shaped stacked battery. You can charge them both at 100W when wired, and 50W when wirelessly charging.

Pricing

You can buy the 17 Seirs on September 27 on Mi.com and official stores. The Xiomai 17 starts at $617, the 17 Pro at $686, and the 17 Pro Max at $823.

These phones signify Xiaomi doubling down on premium design, imaging, and battery innovation.
