Apple Unveils iPhone Air, Its Thinnest and Lightest iPhone Yet
We just got to see an amazing feat of engineering at the Apple Event, with Apple unveiling their slimmest iPhone, the iPhone Air, which is only 5.6 mm thick and is the first new model of the iPhone family in 2 years.
Design
The amazingly thin Air is built with titanium, and is the lightest iPhone yet. For durability both the front and back of the iPhone have the new Ceramic Shield 2 which is 3x better against scratches, and 4x better at handling cracks. The screen is a 6.5-inch OLED with ProMotion 120Hz.

Camera
Even though the Air only has one camera it still has a 48MP and can shoot ultra-wide and telephoto all in one. For the selfie-camera there is a 18MP center stage camera with AI framing. 4K60 video recording is available with Dolby Vision, and Spatial Audio recording is also available. All of this is just in just 2 cameras!
Performance
The new iPhone Air is powered by the A19 Pro which has faster CPUs and GPUs. It also uses a new wireless chip, the N1, which allows it to connect to Wi-Fi 7 Bluetooth 6 and Thread.
Another new chip is the C1X modem, which is faster and more efficient in connectivity, compared to the older C1 chip. All of this chips helps this super thin phone be able to play AAA gaming and complete advanced AI features with ease.
Battery
Again, even with this super thin phone, the battery life is all-day with iOS 26 Adaptive Power Mode. It even gets longer with the all new super thin MagSafe Battery pack.
Accessories
So that the phone stays as thin as it is, Apple announced some new accessories for it. There is the MagSafe case, A bumper Case, and both of them are compatible with the new crossbody strap.

Sustainability
To help Apple get to their gaol of being Carbon Neutral the iPhone Air is made with 80% recycled titanium, a 100% recycled cobalt battery, made with renewable energy, and is packaged with recyclable packaging
Pricing
The iPhone Air starts at $999 with 256GB and is also available in 512GB and 1TB options. Preorders starts September 12 and it will ship starting September 19th. It’s accessories range form $39 to $99.
Apple is positioning the iPhone Air as the future of thin smartphones. It brings pro features to a super sleek form, and is aimed at users who want high performance without bulk.
