Spotify Raises Its Prices Again!

Hello everyone, this article will be a little different because it is a little late from when the actual news came out. I have taken a break from writing for a while to do school and also focus on my YouTube channel, but I hope to get back into it, so let’s get into the news!:

On January 15th, Spotify confirmed that there would be some new price increases for premium plans in the U.S., Estonia, and Latvia. The new prices will come into effect immediately for new subscribers, while existing users will see the price change starting in February 2026.

The Individual Plan will increase from $11.99 to $12.99 a month, the Duo Plan will go from $16.99 ro $18.99 a month, a family plan will increase from $19.99 to $21.99 a month, and finally the Student plan will go from $5.99 to $6.99.

Spotify says that they raised their prices because they have more features, which should require more money than before, with things like Lossless audio, AI DJ, and improved artist payouts.

This is actually the third price increase in under three years for U.S. users, with one in July of 2023 and another in June 2024. So sorry to all Sproify users who live in the U.S. who subscribe to Sproify Premium!

How do you feel about Spotify raising its premium plan prices again? Do you think features like Lossless Audio and AI DJ justify a third price increase in three years? Let us know in the comments!
