Samsung's 2026 Monitors can Refresh at 1,040Hz and Display 3D Content
Samsung’s goal next year is to showcase some super cool display experiences that were previously thought to be impossible. They will release five new display models, including the world’s first 6K 3D monitor and the ultra-fast Odyssey G6.
The new Odessye G6 display is the world’s first monitor to reach a 1,040 refresh rate in Dual Mode and up to 600 Hz native in QHD. The monitor can be used for esports-level motion clarity, allowing players to track targets with less blur during high-speed action. The Odyssey G6 also has AMD FreeSync Premium and NVIDIA G-Sync compatibility to ensure resolution and tear-free performance.
Samsung has also introduced a new G8 monitor series, featuring 27-inch 5K and 32-inch 6K displays. There is also an Odyssey OLED G8, a variant equipped with a 4K QD-OLED panel that offers a 240Hz refresh rate and VESA DisplayHDR True Black 500 certification for infinite contrast. Both models include DisplayPort 2.1, supporting high-bandwidth HDR and VRR, making them great for gamers and creative professionals.
Now for the final display, that we have all been waiting for: the Odyssey 3D. As the name implies, the display uses a built-in stereo camera for real-time eye tracking to adjust depth based on the viewer's position. The lenticular lens on the first panel uses view-mapping algorithms to deliver separate images to each eye, creating a 3D effect without the need for a headset! Samsung has collaborated with game studios for titles like Stellar Bland and Lies of P: Overture to enhance terrain and object separations. There is also a Dual Mode on this display that allows for the ability to switch between 6K 2D and 3K 3D.
This monitor lineup will be featured at CES 2026 in Las Vegas. A specific shipping date is not known yet, but the displays are expected to enter the market in early 2025. The prices have also not been confirmed, but they are expected to cost between $1,299-$1,999.
Do you think that a 1,040Hz refresh rate on a monitor is just too much? Do you think that a flat monitor that can create 3D-looking spaces would be fun to use? Would you buy any of these monitors? Let us know in the comments!
