YouTube Adds a Recap Feature to Summarize What You’ve Been Watching

Have you ever wanted to see your video habits? Well, now you can with YouTube’s new Recap feature, which creates a year-in-review style summary for users’ watching habits, delivering up to 12 cards that highlight top channels, interests, shifts in taste, and most-watched content over the past year. This feature also give personality types based on viewing behaviors, like Adventurer, Skill Builder, Creative Spirit, and more, similar to what music streaming companies do.

Recap covers a lot of different things, like YouTube videos, but also stats from music listening, top artists, songs, and podcasts. But, Recap doesn't replace the separate annual recap in the YouTube Music app, so you will still get that in YouTube Music.

Reacp is only available right now in the U.S., but it is expected to expand globally this week. You can access it on mobile and desktop through a dedicated homepage button or under the You tab.

Do you like it when companies give you a summary of what you have been listening to or watching? Let us know in the comments!
