The New Speakers From IKEA and Teklan Prove Tech Doesn’t Have To Be Boring
There is a new partnership between IKEA and Teklan Severin that shows a shift forward in electronics that doubles as both technology and expressive home decor. The partnership is built on Tekla Evelina Severin’s bold color language and IKEA’s experience in creating accessible home products. The overall goal is to turn speakers into visible, enjoyable, and engaging pieces rather than items that people just hide away or put out just sometimes.
The new product line has many nontraditional color combinations and geometric patterns, giving the speakers a more artistic and vibrant presence, which is again, so different! Teklan has always thought that color can change how we emotionally perceive objects, and this idea is definitely in these speakers. Few companies are pushing this kind of stuff right now, making this new line stand out a lot in a market that usually prioritizes minimalism or neutral colors.
The SOLSKYDD Bluetooth speakers come in three sizes, each specifically designed to add personality to a space. There is an orange portable model, a green middle-sized striped one, and lastly a large wall-mounted version with textured finishes, each using Teklan’s patterns to create cool effects. A normal white version still exists outside the collaboration, but the Teklan editions are more design-forward and a lot cooler.
In the collaboration, there also came some KULGLASS lamp speakers, which merge sound, ambient light, and fun character-like shapes, including a swirl-top shade that is inspired by soft, serve ice cream! That's fun! There is also some cool color choices, like mint green, that give the tech a softer, kinder presence.
Would you like speakers in bold colors and patterns in your home, or would you like the normal designs? Do you think other tech brands should experiment with playful, expressive styling? Are you going to get one of these speakers or lamps? Let us know in the comments!
