Wyze Solar Cam Pan: Smarter, Cheaper, and Always Charged
Wyze recently announced its first battery-powered camera, the Wyze Solar Cam Pan. It offers full yard coverage with 2K resolution, 60° rotation, and 70° tilt. Priced at $79.98, it is more affordable than comparable cameras.
The camera uses AI to detect people and automatically follow movement, plus it can be controlled remotely through the Wyze app. It also has other features like night vision with IR light, a motion-activated spotlight, and a built-in siren for detection. It gets a water ingress rating of IP65, has two-way audio, and also has compatibility with Alexa, Google Assistant, and IFTTT. The solar panel is fully detachable, allowing for different placements for better sun exposure.

The Wze Solear Cam Pan also has a local record options with microSD cards and cloud storage plans ranging or $2.99 to $19.99 a month. Wyze is trying to rebuild trust through better privacy and transparency, due to the recent security breaches. So, the Wyze Solar Cam Pan offers value and many smart features at the price, but consumers who want privacy may still watch closely to see how Wyze maintains security going forward.
