Chat GPT Now Has Its Own Bowser Called Atlas
Chat GPT Atlas is a new web browser that is built directly around ChatGPT. It is OpenAI’s way of rethinking how people use the web, combining browsing, search, and AI into one place. It is available right now on macOS for all users, with Windows, iOS, and Android versions coming soon.
Atlas is made to remember you, so it uses ChatGPT’s memory to understand what users are working on and recall context from past browsing, but the browser memories are also optional and can be viewed or deleted at any time. OpenAI is also emphasizing how Atlas is private, has parental controls, and how it lets users choose when ChatGPT can see a page or stay hidden.
There is also a new agent mode, which lets ChatGPT perform tasks directly in the browser, like researching, planning, or shopping online, but this is only in previews for users who are Plus, Pro, and Business subscribers right now. OpenAI also said that they added safeguards to prevent risks like data misuse or malicious site actions. So while the idea of an AI taking real actions online is cool, it still carries early-stage risk and limitations.
So, Atlas aims to make the web more interactive, blend search, automation, and context into one. It also has some upcoming features such as: multi-profile support, developer tools, and better app discovery planned in future updates. Atlas could represent the start of AI browsing, but it’s still too early to know how users will use it.
Would you replace your current browser with ChatGPT Atlas? How do you feel about a browser that remembers what you’ve done online? What do you think about AI browsing? Let us know what he comments!
