Design

There is a new camera and it sits in the middle of the glasses, can capture in 3K resolution, and has new capture modes like slow motion, hyperlapse, and stabilization.

The new speakers are open-ear speakers that are 6dB louder than the Oakley Meta HSTN, and are optimized for noisy outdoor environments.

The speakers are also paired with five mics that can actually reduce wind noise during calls or AI interactions.

Other design features include interchangeable Wraparound PRIZM lenses, IP67 water and dust resistance, a LED indicator in your peripheral vision that will allow you to see quick progress checks, and a great battery life of up to 9 hours and the case extends that to 36 hours. The glasses also support fast charging with the ability to get to 50% in just 20 minutes.

Integrations and features

The new Meta Oakley Vanguard have support for Garmin support. Which means they can tell you your heart rate, pace, or performance stats all hand-free. Autocapture can automatically record video clips at milestones like distance, heart rate spikes, and climbs.

The Meta Oakley Vanguard also integrate with Strava. You can overlay metrics on your video, and quickly share them directly in Strava or other social apps. The glasses also sync with Garmin Connect, Apple Health, and Android Health Connect for easy summaries.

Availability and price

The Meta Oakley Vanguard will be launching on October 21, 2025, with a price tag of $499 and pre-orders will be starting today on Meta.com and Oakley.com.

Why It Matters

These glasses show that Meta’s glasses are not just lifestyle AI glasses, but also glasses for athletes. They blur the lines between fitness tracker, action camera, and personal coach. Positioning AI glasses as serious sports gear, not just casual wear.
