Google says That Gemini 3 is its Most Powerful AI Model Yet

Google revealed what they are calling the next major version of their AI model, called Gemini 3. It follows Gemini 1 and 2, and Google says that each version has improved reasoning, context learning, and multimodal processing. This rollout spans across Google Search, developer tools, enterprise platforms, and the Gemini app. Few companies can do what Google did here with releasing such a large, system-wide AI upgrade all at once, showing Google’s scale.

Google is saying that the new model has deeper reasoning, a more accurate understanding of intent, and better multimodal processing across different things like text, images, video, audio, and code. The Gemini 3 Pro model scores highly in multiple AI benchmarks like GPQ and LLMArena, with notable improvements over Gemini 2.5 Pro. The model aims to reduce vague answers and produce more direct, context-aware responses. The benchmarks are impressive, but they only measure specific tasks, so we have to take the data from them with caution.

Gemini 3 is now integrated into the new AI Mode in Google Search, making new visual layouts, interactive elements, and more complex reasoning directly in search results. This is the first time that Google has put a new Gemini model in Search on day one, so they must be confident in Gemini 3’s performance. Google wants Gemini 3 to help users learn, plan, and understand information in more personalized ways, which are a lot of use cases for one model! My question for you is: Do you feel comfortable with AI taking a bigger role in search results?

Gemini 3 also has some new tools for developers, with it being integrated in AI Studio, Vertex AI, Gemini CLI, and a new agent-focused platform that is called Google Antigravity. The company is leaning into agentic AI models that can plan tasks, use tools, and execute multi-step actions. Few companies are building end-to-end agentic platforms at this scale, which could reshape how people build software.

Google has also talked about how they are rolling out Gemini 3 safely, with wider testing, third-party evaluations, and efforts to reduce misuse. Gemini 3 and Deep Think mode will be rolling out slowly, with some features held back for more testing to be done on them. The company plans to release more models in the Gemini 3 series soon, so we’ll have to see how it goes!

Gemini 3 represents another step in the rapid revolution of AI, but impacts will depend on real-world use and safety practices. I feel like this might be a good upgrade, but I always wonder if we need as many AI models as we have from so many different companies!

What everyday things would you be fine with AI handling for you, and which ones would you not trust it with? Do you think Gemini 3 is an actual good upgrade? What company do you think will be the Apple of AI, and which one will be the Android? Let us know in the comments!
