The Affordable EV Is Making a Comeback With The 2027 Bolt
Many affordable EVs have been unveiled lately, like the new Tesla Standard Models and the Nissan Leaf, and now the fan-favorite Chevy Bolt is making a return after huge public demand. The 2027 model year is a limited-run return and will start at $28,995, making it one of the most affordable long-range EVs in America.
The new 2027 Bolt is returning with a 255-mile estimated range, which is also the most range in any EV under $30,000. The launch price will start at $29,990 for the LT, with a later version coming at $28,995. Chevy’s goal with the Bolt is to keep EVs accessible for buyers.
The Bolt is powered by GM’s new X76 electric drive unit for better efficiency and cost savings. The battery will be able to go from 10% to 80% in a pretty impressive 26 minutes with DC fast charging, which is 2.5x faster than before. The charge port is NACS, which means it has full access to Tesla’s Supercharger network, which has been happening a lot in new EVs. Chevy also made the battery more efficient and durable with minimal rare-earth materials and better regenerative braking than before.
For tech experiences, the Bolt has an 11.3-inch infotainment display, plus an 11-inch digital driver screen. It also getts built-in Google Maps, a voice assistant, and apps like HBO Max, Angry Birds, and Chrome for entertainment when charging or doing other stuff. The Bolt also gets Super Cruise hands-free driving with integrated navigation. For other enhanced smart features, the car gets better battery preconditioning, live charging station updates, and voice-controlled climate and calls.

The interior is more open and has a driver-centered interior with two wireless charging pads, multiple USB-C ports, and a new open console design. The Bolt still keeps its playful personality with over seven color options! You can get a panoramic sunroof and heated/ventilated seats as optional features.

You can use the Vehicle-to-Home system to power your home during power outages. With the 255-mile range and most people driving 42 miles a day, it makes the Bolt amazingly balanced for affordability, range, and tech.
The strategy with the new Bolt is to make Chevy a mainstream maker in the segment of affordable EVs with the Bolt and the Equinox. This new Bolt should help Chevy become a mainstream EV leader, and the Bolt’s revival also celebrates loyalty, with it only being back because of driver demand.
