Tesla’s New Standard Models Still Go The Distance

Tesla annocued that they are offering cheaper models of their popular Model 3 sedan, and Model Y mid-sized SUV. The New vehicles are meant to help people get into the electric car market and help Tesla sales grow after a drop this year.

They also announced that their standard models would now be called Premium models. Which is a little wierd to do after the vehicles being called the Model 3 and Model Y for a while.

Model 3 Standard

Model 3 Standard isn’t that much of a downgrade from the normal Model 3, which is now called the Model 3 Premium. It gets the panoramic glass roof, aluminum and other textile details, a Particulate and odor filter, LED headlights, auto and adaptive high beams, a dash cam and Sentry Mode, Dog Mode, The ability to do Caraoke, acces toGrok AI, has a lot of standard safety features, access to the Supercharge network, and a lot more greta features, for about $5,500 less than the Model 3 Premium.

So as you can see, it isn’t missing a lot of features, but there are a few, such as no FM/AM radio, wraparound ambient lighting, second-row heated seats, autosteer, less range, and a few more things.

Model Y Standard

The Model Y Standard also doesn't compromise on a lot of features compared to its more expensive counterpart, the Model Y Premium. The car still has a heated steering wheel and windshield, custom driver profiles, a lot of standard safety features, Aluminum and premium textile details, Sentry Mode, access to the Supercharger network, and many more features that make this car a pretty good deal. How much exactly? About $5,000 less than the premium model.

Like the Model 3 Standard, the Model Y Standard dosent have all the features that the other trims of the cars have, such as no FM/AM radio, second row touchscreen, wraparound ambient lighting, ventilated front-row seats, heated second-row seats, auto steering, and again, less range.

The Model Y Standard doesn’t have a style too different from the Model Y Standard, except that it doesn’t have a full-width lighting bar and full-width braking light.

Would you get one of these Standard models instead of their Premium counterparts? Do you think the trade-offs are ok, or not ok? What do you think of their styling compared to the Model 3 Premium and Model Y Premium? Let us know in the comments!
