Comet for Android Brings Perpleity’s AI Broswer to Mobile

Perplexity has just released a version of their AI browser called Comet on Android. The browser Comet has already gained popularity on desktop, with millions using its AI-driven tools for focused browsing and task assistance. Perplexity rebuilt the mobile version intentionally, thankfully, instead of just shrinking down the desktop version! Positioning it as a browser specifically designed for an AI-first web experience.

Some key features of the mobile experience are that there is an AI Assistant available at one tap, with expanded reasoning and transparency into what action it is taking, voice-based interactions made for finding info across open tabs, tab-level summaries using the Smart Summarization system, and a built-in ad blocker that mirrors the desktop version.

Comet for Android aims to provide a distraction-free environment with ad-blocking and AI support that stays in the background unless they are needed. It positions itself as a personal assistant that can research, summarize, simplify, and shop across the web.

Do you think you would use the Comet browser? Do you think you would use a voice-enabled AI assistant while browsing the internet? Let us know in the comments!
