The New X4 Air Isn’t a Huge Leap, But It Could Be the Lightest One Yet
Insta 360 has introduced its newest 360 camera called the X4 Air. This product is all about being a compact and affordable 8K 360-degree camera.
The design of the X4 Air is like previous Insta360 models, but it is actually lighter, with a weight of about 165 grams. Insta360 says it is lighter than an apple, which is a fun comparison and reference. The design makes the camera practical for travel, vlogging, and everyday recording. Like the new X5 camera from Insta360, the X4 Air gets replaceable lenses, which means you can record will less worry. The camera also has drop resistance and a waterproof rating of 49 feet, which all make it feel durable despite the lightweight design.

As for camera performance, it can record 8K 360 video, has Active HDR and Adaptive Tone for better exposure, and FlowState stabilization. It also has AI-powered tools like Gesture Control and Twist to Shoot for easier handling. It is clearly made to make 360 shooting easier for all.
Insta 360 is continuing to push editing in its app with features like automatic reframing, AI edit tools, and Insta360+ cloud backup. It integrates with other brands like Apple and Garmin for syncing data. All of this makes editing experiences smoother, with more AI assistance for quick results. It is good for convenience, but it also still allows creators to have more control.
The camera costs $399.99 for the Standard Bundle, and $439.99 for the Starter bundle that gives you a selfie stick, cap, and extra battery. It is available right now on Insta360’s website, Amazon, and other retailers. There is also a limited-time 1-year Insta360+ cloud subscription with 200GB of storage. The X4 Air doesn’t reinvent the action camera, but it does focus on refinement, a lighter build, and smarter features.
Is a $400 lightweight 360 camera worth it for everyday use, or would you just stick with a phone? Why do you think that Insta360 went with X4 Air instead of X5 Air? Let us know in the comments!
