The Kindle Scribe Goes Color
Amazon just introduced a fully redesigned Kindle Scripe lineup. There are three versions: the Standard Scribe, with a front light, the entry-level Kindle with no front light, and the new Kindle Scribe Colorsoft, as the name implies, which has a colored screen.

All of the new Kindles are super-thin with widths of only 5.4mm and are also light with a weight of 400 grams. They all have 11-inch glare-free displays, with paper-like proportions, 40% faster writing and page turns, and a new light with miniaturized LEDs, textured glass for friction, reduced parallax, and a more powerful chip.
The Kindle Sriribe Colorsoft has a soft, eye-friendly color display that is not like the normal, harsh LCD. The color filter and nitride LEDs make for natural tones, and a new rendering engine makes for fast, fluid writing and drawing. The Kindle Scripe has tools including 10 pen colors, 5 highlighter colors, and multiple shading options. It is still a distraction-free device with up to weeks of battery life.

The new Kindle lineup also has AI-powered features like the new AI notebooks that let you search naturally and get summaries of text. Quick Notes, a redesigned home, cloud support for Google Drive, OneDrive, and export to OneNote, also make them more capable. Sending notes to Alexa+ will be coming soon, and for readers, AI features like Story So Far and Ask This Book will be coming too.
The prices for the new Kindle products are $429.99 for the one with no front light, $499.99 for the standard, and $629.99 for the new Colorsoft Kindle. They all come with a magnetic pen that never needs charging, and add-on accessories, including folio covers and a new executive notebook style. They will launch later this year in the U.S and early next year in the UK & Germany.
Would you replace your paper notebook with the new Kindle Scribe? At $629.99, is the Colorsoft worth it, or would you stick with the regular Kindle? Let us know in the comments!
