Spotofy’s Shuffle is Getting Smarter

This year feels different for Spotify users, because the app is finally giving listeners more control instead of guessing what they want with new personalization tools like pick the song you want to play, even if you are not a premium subscriber, how you can now exclude songs from your Tastes Profile, and the snooze feature for pausing recommendations. All of these changes make it feel like Spotify is actually listening to feedback.

Now, Spotify is introducing a smarter shuffle that might actually feel more effective. Now it will have fewer repeats of songs, and it will also pay attention to what you recently listened to, so you don’t hear the same track three times in one hour, which should make playlists feel fresher and more dynamic. Premium users can still switch back to the Standard Shuffle, but Spotify warns that it will be more random and may repeat songs more than you may like. To change the Shuffle mode, you can go to Settings, then Playback, and then tap on the mode you want.

Do you like the idea of having fewer repeats, or do you like randomness better? Will these personalization tools make you use Spoffy more if you have it, or do you think they’re not enough? Let us know in the comments!
