MLS Comes to Apple TV for no Extra Cost

A major shift is happening at Apple TV: all MLS matches will be free with a standard Apple TV subscription starting in 2026. It feels like a level-up for Apple TV, since previously, people needed an additional subscription for MLS Season Pass, but thankfully, that separate subscription is now gone. It’s not just a promo, it’s a strategic move that makes Apple TV feel more like a sports hub, especially since they now have F1!

MLS fans will now be able to watch regular-season matches, playoffs, League Cups, All-Star games, and all the extras inside one subscription. All of this makes Apple TV feel more packed with content than before. To me, this came out of nowhere and surprised me, so good job, Apple!

This addition builds on their past three-season partnership and comes ahead of the 2026 World Cup, which is great timing for Apple to do this, to get even more people signed up to Apple TV! It positions Apple as a stronger global sports streamer, especially with its availability in over 100 regions. Both Apple and MLS executives say that this is a major win for fans, but I wonder if Apple will actually keep this for a long time or if they will go back after a while.

This is the league’s 30th season, and its growth has been strong with stars like Messi and Son bringing global attention. Making MLS a part of Apple TV’s base subscriptions will increase its value for general subscribers, which is always good to hear. This is one of the many expansions to come as Apple tries to grow its services market. Fans can still enjoy the rest of the 2025 season before the change happens, and with all of these sports happening on Apple TV, I definitely think that more sports are coming.

What sports do you think will come next to Apple TV? Do you think Apple TV is a better deal with MLS included now? Will this make you watch more MLS matches now? Does this move make you more likely to stick with Apple TV or make you want to get it? Let us know in the comments!
